Pull the hose off the exhaust elbow. If water flows there with
engine running, the exhaust elbow is plugged or the exhaust hose inner
liner is collapsed.
If no water at the exhaust elbow inlet, disconnect the hose on the

I brought Touche' back from Pensacola to its home slip on Lake
Pontchartrain this week. Overall a nice sail with fair winds and weather.
Had one glitch. Here's an excerpt from the trip report I sent some of my
sailing buddies.
Thursday we were motor sailing past Petit Bois Island, Mississippi.
Yep. Still use it occasionally.
Admiral and I are recovering hikers/backpackers. We're familiar with
alcohol stoves. They're just grown up versions of backpacking stoves.

Actually, I just found a pic. You're talking about the cover that lifts up
and slides behind the stove?

Mine doesn't have anything on the bottom.

I don't recall that on Touche'. Perhaps a previous owner put it on?
I'll verify next time I'm on the boat.

Dave, that looks great! Very clean.
As for the gelcoat touch up, rent one of the gelcoat color books from
FibreGlast here:
https://www.fibreglast.com/category/colorgelcoat
Order a quart of whichever color best matches. Mix the gelcoat, activate
it then add colloidal silica to a mayonnaise cons
Was sailing Touche' on Pensacola Bay yesterday afternoon after the sea
breeze filled in. The New York Yacht Club's AC40, American Magic, was on
the bay practicing. American Magic and chase boats made a couple of passes
near us. One was about 200 yards off our stern.
Breeze was about 10-11 knots
You can rent a RAL or Instint gelcoat color book here:

Then order the color that best matches.

Promised pics of the Awlcraft repair. Launched Touche' yesterday. The
scuff marks were repaired. Again, the paint was Awlcraft 2000 Sunfast Red.

The one on my 35-1 is a Morch. Bet yours is also. Does the nut have an
"M" on it?
Here's a pic of it removed and stripped for painting.

Touche
Well, I pulled Touche's engine panel today and lo and behold, the label on
the tach says Datcon 71725-00. So don't pay $350 for the Westerbeke part
when you can order the same part for $150,

Well, gosh darn. Touche's engine hour meter died (or went to sleep).
Engine is Universal 25XPB. Boat is in yard 4 hours away so I'm just
probing around the web for options.
First, it may be repairable. Might just be a poor connection. I probably
won't tackle it until I get the boat back to its

Please show your appreciation for this list and the Photo Album site and help

Doubt I'm qualified to answer that. Awlgrip could answer that.
I suspect you'd have to prime it with 545 first. After sanding and prep,
my painter applied 3 coats of high build primer to get the smoothness he
wanted.

Richard,
Here's a good site that explains the differences:
https://www.bottompaintstore.com/blog/topside-paint-how-to/awlgrip-vs-awlcraft-2000-differences/
IMHO, repairing Awlgrip requires a painter that really knows how to blend,
feather and buff.

Mike,
It's Awlcraft 2000. Chosen for exactly the reason you stated.
The paint got scuffed during Hurricane Ida in 2021. I can see the primer
so it can't be buffed out. Here's a link to a picture of the scuffs:
