If you click the "View All Tracks" link on his Garmin page, it shows the track started in Brenham, TX. It travels by land to Pensacola, FL.
Looks like he launched at the boat ramp in Bayou Grande in Warrington, FL. Came as a surprise to me as I grew up in that neighborhood about 1/2 mile from the ramp.
