Not certain what you have on your 37+ but the 34R came out during the same time from C&C and it has Delrin doughnuts for bearings. The stainless steel shaft rides on delrin. You can see a bulge in the rudder log where the bearings are. I think earlier C&Cs had a fiberglass shaft, no bearings. So

Anybody know anything about the rudder bearings on a 37+? When I pulled the 24 year old rudder, the shaft had some scoring and wear grooves. I looked up inside the "bearings" but couldn't tell if it was an actual bearing with rollers or just a bushing (rubber, fiberglass, bronze?). Thanks, Josh

Marc Sorry - wrong club. You are talking about the bedford Basin Yacht Club crane not RNSYS. One suggestion is to take the mast down before using the crane. Would make life easier when hoisting. Use the same crane to take down the mast. Is a job best done with three persons plus the yard staf

The Dehler DB1 Highlander hauls with that crane for cleaning bottom. It is a 33 foot older design race boat. I also saw a beneteau 305 get lifted with the crane but the clearance was not sufficient to put on the cradle The C&C 30 would be close but I agree is a bit large for the crane Mike ---

Hi Mark Belinda would know better than I, so that sounds good. The extra expense of the big crane is no biggie, but the scheduling flexibility is indeed a good reason to use club crane. Not sure how to figure out if there is enough clearance for lifting the 30 - maybe ask Travis what boat is
