Gary, This is almost as bad as asking what anchor to use! I would not use Minwax, as it is not rated for exterior use (even though it is interior wood). Satin shows fewer imperfections, but satin v. gloss is a matter of taste. I'm not even going to try to profess to know which varnish/finish is best! Any idea what is on there now?
