How would this compare to VC 17 which in my fresh water lake this year required
considerable effort from the pressure washer to de slime the boat. Bad hull
maintenance year for a racer I know. The main event photos has my boat as the
only one green below the waterline!

Hi Bob,
I've heard good things about Micron 66; multiseason, hard, fast, scrubbable. Do
you use it? Do you race?

Tell your 40' Beneteau friend to get some Micron 66 to avoid the annual

I guess I've been lucky. No problems with US Customs, numerous problems
with Canadian Customs stealing my potatoes and apples. (But they missed all
the booze I had on board, heh, heh). One time a crew member was denied
entry to Canada because of long ago minor criminal record.

I spoke with a friend of mine who has a Redline 25 and he keeps a toilet

I shall try it on mine.

Rob,
The Redline 25 is an earlier model designed by C&C and built by Bruckman in
Oakville.
The C&C Photo Album has the original brochures under C&C Brochures. Look for

Out here on the US West Coast there is governmental activity to ban copper in
recreational boat bottom paints.
IIRC the legislation was moved to the back burner in Washington and California
to allow for more study. The last draft I saw allowed for several years of

JT,
You refer to this boat as a C&C 25 Redline. Is this a C&C 25 or is it a
Redline 25? As the drawings below show, they are distinctly different
boats. I built Redline 25s in my first summer working in the Custom Shop in
1968 before there was even a C&C, and the cockpit drains were located in

If it was on the hard for several years my fuirst guess would be pine
needles and/or small twigs and the leaves etc. I usually use a garden
hose or a low pressure electric pressure washer FROM THE OUTSIDE IN - to
push the mess back into the cockpit.

Bill, very astute observation, we looked at a 37 today, have to "weigh" all

Sent from my iPho
Richard, We looked at a 37 in Wickford and aside from a few deck problems,
it was a pretty good boat that I think could be had pretty reasonably. But
it had nothing much in the way of equipment on it. If we hadn't found the
40, we were leaning very much in the direction of this 37.

Bob, don't laugh about popping the clutch.
I used to start my old 1GM Yanmar with a hand crank.
Back in the day, I occasionally found myself with 2 dead batteries and
nothing to get the engine going.
We'd simply pull out the hand crank, decompress the cylinder, spin it
around and then release.
