Is bacula supporting tapes magstar 3570? I saw in the
Web page the list of supporting tapes but can tell me
anyone about the difference between 3480, 3480XL,
3490, 3490E, 3580 and 3590 drives and 3570?.

I'm trying to get bacula to backup some SGI machines running Irix 6.5 (64 bit).
The bacula-fd executable compiles and runs, and communication between the
bacula-dir and fd client is successful. However, the filesystem type isn't
recognized:

Well I finished running dbcheck in fix mode. It deleted a bunch of

to test it out.
Using btape, I use the label command to put the same label as what the

Okay, I've asked this question a few times and I am still trying to get
bacula back to a working state. I had a working configuration on Fedora
Core 4, Athlon 64 bit, attached to a Dell 124T Tape library. I use
Bacula to do a Master Backup once a month and incrementals the rest.

What you show is pretty much my idea, but it needs a bit more information such
as: OS and version, and database type with version if appropriate.

Hello again,
Might I add a few lines I've already

Spooling is very good, but shouldn't slow down backup
since this affects
per-night-capacity.
Also, I thought about simultaneous jobs going on several drives of one

Hello,
In my expierience it's sometimes hard
to define what information to supply is neccessary for a certain problem
and what is not - especially since you don't know the cause for your problem
and that's why one is posting to the users-list.
So if you should decide to create a

Hello,
I am not likely to accept the Feature request as it stands (perhaps after some
changes) for the following two reasons:
1. You mention that this feature will prolong the tape's lifetime, but I see
no impovement in this regard over the current code.
2. Once the spool file fills, it is ful

A few weeks ago I posted to this list with a problem concerning my tapes
encountering errors around the 100G mark which resulted in bacula ending
them and moving onto another tape.
As suggested, I swapped the SCSI card for an Adaptec unit, however the
problem persists:

Try erasing the tape with mt. If that doesn't solve the problem, use another
tape. The btape "test" program does not need the volume to be labeled by
Bacula. It will in fact write over any existing label.

that some have no information. They don't state the OS, Bacula version, the
