Braze-ons are super easy to add to a steel bike – not sure about paint, though. I wonder if a pro like Bilenky could add them and only touch-up the surrounding area as an option to a full repaint. There are a number of choices, but I normally choose the smaller hourglass version for mid-fork mounts.
