Even more of a mountain, since you don't even need the (rh thread) lockring.
But I agree with the others that, *if* you have a choice, why not spec a
flip flop? The only disadvantage I can see, apart from eventual legal
liability, is cost, which can't be huge at all.

I wish I had a QB fixie, even with an old, cheap Normandy hub!
