My son has a very masculine name (Mohammed), but he has long
hair.  He has gotten used to people casually addressing him as
female, but it really annoys him when he tells people that he is
male and they insist he's not.

He thinks that random adults who meet him treat him better if
they think he is a girl; they have different expectations.
