You'd think that with a name like "Ian" the gender confusion wouldn't
be an issue. (do YOU know of any women named "Ian"). On the flip side,
whenever someone calls up and asks for "EYE-an", or "Ms. Jan", or some
other weird butchering of my name (and believe me, there have been some
that have been almost unrecognizable) I know immediately that it's
someone that either wants money, or wants to sell me something, or  is
one of my creditors. Many of said creditors learned very quickly that
if they want money out of me, they had better learn my name.
