Sorry that I am chiming in late here - I have commented there that I do object to creating (lots of) new acronyms. For people who only occasionally interact with an organization, acronyms create useless barriers in communication. We do have a good number of those already, I think creating more of them for non-critical purposes is not good. I don't see what's wrong with saying "Member of a PMC" or "PMC Member".
