In the past, this kind of situation occurred more frequently, but most
have been corrected in recent years, precisely because people actively
pointed out the issues and encouraged corrections. I'd suggest we
continue to popularize the notation of PMC Member.
Of course, if the MPMC acronyms is perfect and elegant, it would be
worth the time to implement. But if we create a new acronyms for the
sake of a very few people using it incorrectly, then it might seem a
bit contrived.
The term PMC Member itself is not wrong, it's just that some people
have mistakenly used PMC in its place. Why would we expect that
changing PMC Member to MPMC would prevent these people from using it
incorrectly?
If we introduce MPMC, should we also consider simultaneously add CPMC
(PMC Chair) and MASF (ASF Member) to ensure that all roles have a fair
acronyms? Otherwise, MPMC might seem a bit out of place.
