Very well said. Maybe we should all remember this is a small volunteer based organization. We do not pay anyone to be on the board to lead, to regulate, measure, act or to do anything at all. Everyone who is a member of this club's board are working for the benefit of the club to their best abilities. You may have issues with people but please consider handling them in a manner that is befitting ladies/gentlemen that we're supposed to be. Talk, communicate and use the democracy we have. We have enough polar division and anger management issues in politics so I don't think we need more of that in our hobbies too.
We are supposed to be kind and helping. We're supposed to be gentle, teaching, learning individuals. I know nowhere in FCC rules say we're supposed to be the best role models human kind can provide, but hey, I can dream! When I'm talking to people about radio amateurs that's what I try to put in their heads as an image of hams. Good gentle souls who are always there to help their fellows, who are eager to learn as much as ready to teach. Good people with good souls, weird sense of humor and way too many gadgets. But always kind and soft spoken. I rarely ever hear a bad argument on the waves. Yes there are arguments etc. but it rarely becomes insulting and attacking. (At least that's my experience with my limited time on the air)
Also, I feel like remembering how people have worked in this club for a long time, how much time everyone has sacrificed is very important. We're all people, we all have our lives and sometimes things happen and we're not able to perform 100%. Just because someone may not be there for one time or two or have issues etc. cannot erase all the other times these same people have put all their own time, effort and even money for this club. A bit of appreciation for the past deeds would never go the wrong way. If if we're not happy with something, there is a good way to solve it through democracy but without being harsh or abrasive. We're all (I hope) adults. So I'd love to see us act like it. Preferably like distinguished ladies and gentlemen that I fancy us to be.

As an active member, you are listed on the roster. You look for the person's call sign or name and you can find their number. Just call and ask. But please, look on the roster for w5lic - you should see at least your name.

Kori? you are in on this, what are your thoughts? Do we need to continue or should we stop now? I would put that question to Mike, but I know he is temporarily unavailable today.. He has a life too. You are next in command, and should be able to set the example.
I wanted to know the reason why the club president did not give notice as per the by-laws about the club BOD meeting. I know some of the board members make time to be there, why can't he? At least give notice as per the by-laws. Canceling the meeting the day of is not the right thing to do.
(Article V Section G Provisions applicable to meetings of the Board of Directors shall be:1. The board of directors shall meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM at a location votedupon at a previous board of directors meeting unless changed by a majority of the board members by giving proper notice 7 days in advance.. Special meetings may be called by either a majority of the board members or theChairman with 7 days notice either in writing or by verbal contact with each Board member.)
As for the Hamfest meeting the by-laws don't play a factor here but some common courtesy should be shown to the people that are helping the coordinator of the event.
