I wanted to know the reason why the club president did not give notice as per the by-laws about the club BOD meeting. I know some of the board members make time to be there, why can't he? At least give notice as per the by-laws. Canceling the meeting the day of is not the right thing to do.
(Article V Section G Provisions applicable to meetings of the Board of Directors shall be: 1. The board of directors shall meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 PM at a location voted upon at a previous board of directors meeting unless changed by a majority of the board members by giving proper notice 7 days in advance.. Special meetings may be called by either a majority of the board members or the Chairman with 7 days notice either in writing or by verbal contact with each Board member.) As for the Hamfest meeting the by-laws don't play a factor here but some common courtesy should be shown to the people that are helping the coordinator of the event.
