Anthony,  you remind me a lot of Eddie Haskell. The old folks will know, you

Subject: Re: [BVARC] BOD and Hamfest meeting First I would like y'all to
understand that as a past member and past board member, I hold the board to a
high standard. For those who think I "up and quiet", that is not what happened.
I was not getting anywhere with the president at that time, and was being told
it's his way or the highway ( he will never admit that). During my 2 year term
I would bring things to the board, it felt like my hands were being tied
resulting in me finally leaving the board. It was a better decision than to
continue arguing with him, so now I check in to the BOD meetings just to see if
things have changed. But I see nothing has. Richard,I was only asking about the
BOD and Hamfest meetings not Winter or Summer Field Day. I understand you try
to get people to in some manner get along. But sometimes there are some things
we can't control. I never said the president couldn't get sick.I am just saying
the meeting should go on. As for the by-law you quoted, there is nowhere to put
up a note for the Corresponding Secretary to let the members that want to
attend the meeting know about the change. Also in the email that was sent there
was no date and time for the meeting to be rescheduled. We, I mean Kori, Kirk
and myself were in the BOD meeting till 5:22pm. As for your remarks on
reprimanding people, that was the case. I was just asking a question and used
facts to back it up. Terry,I look to you as a great friend. I feel that as a
great friend we should be able to say things to the point, not beat around the
bush. There was no tone in the message, just a question. If you took it that
way then I am sorry. If I saw you doing something against what you told me or
making the rules fit only for your benefit, then yes I would tell you something
like a friend should. The RF and E-communications "Code-of-Conduct" you plan on
bringing to the board should not silence a member or non member from wanting to
ask questions. In no way, shape or form am I trying to look like a bad person.
Like I said in the beginning of this message (I hold the BOD to a higher
standard).John (KI5HOC),I am glad you are entertained. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Check out the next show. Same Bat- Channel, maybe a different Bat-Time, Ha ha
ha ha ha.Eddie,I had an axe to grind, but I lent it out to Rudy. Ha ha ha ha. I
am glad you showed me that this is the best place to get my voice heard by the
club and BOD members. Thanks man.Gokhan,A very well said email. Micheal Amos,I
am very sorry that your friend was pushed over the fence during the 2023
Hamfest meeting. I remember it well. I wish there was a way to maybe try again
with you friend. There are some great people on Ham radio. I have met a few of
them in this club and iI consider them to be great friends. Now for my last
comment:To all the club members, the reflector is the best place to get your
voice heard. As you can tell I have gotten a few responses to my question. I
hope you all have read the whole story and not just a part of it, I would hate
for y'all to miss any little detail. Please continue being the best ham
operators you can be. Just because I am not on the board or a member any more
doesn't mean I will let things go by. Like I said to Terry, I see most of y'all
as good friends and would ask you straight away about anything. I am not trying
to cause discontent or angst in the club. As members you should be able to
question any board member at any given time about what happened or what is
happening. Remember the BOD serves you all, not the other way around. The point
of all this is that the BOD meeting should go on no matter what. On Mon, Feb

To All,I will once again step in here...Mr
Ackerman, as of last HamFest, I tried to work with you to resolve
issues. I tried to take care of issues and all you wanted is for a
member to be removed. If this is the case, once again, let's
make this a level playing field and address non action during Winter
Field day. Should we remove all members that have faults?Let's even talk about
Summer Field Day... We can go 2 for 2 on those...I worked on addressing your
issues and you refused to work with me or even talk to the person that was at
the center of this. Also, if you goto the roster, there is a list of positions
held for each person, just look up that position. And the awards they got
too. Please, feel free to look it up.As
for volunteering, there are people that volunteer to help and do not
show. Now - I ask you, what should we do with those people? We had a
full staff last year at HamFest and people did not help. Now
 - this year I have already asked for people to help with the Summer
Field Day. As we had a VERY successful field day, I would expect people
to step up. Still waiting. Also, I want to know
 - last HamFest, we had a member that thought he had all the answers.
Instead of sticking around with the club, they threw a fit and quit. So
they took their bat and ball and went home. Only issue is we have VERY
strong members that stepped up and we kept the game going. As for the apologies,
that is called adulting and taking responsibility. They did not just run and
hide.So,
as I see this so far, we have had 2 people now point out that there are
people with lives and have no regard for the well being of others. Boy,
I hope that we see that this applies to everyone. So again....
Someone please check the rules for the Goose and the Gander? By
the way, I looked up the FCC and ARRL Organization Structures, but I
still can not find the section named Saints.  So I am sure there are
issues there too. No one is perfect. With that,
EVERYONE of the Field Day and HamFest participants, THANK YOU for your
hard work and dedication. This club is not only a club, but a family of
long time members.
It is easy to throw stones from the outside of the house. If
you have an issue, please join us and talk it out. As I pointed out
before, talk to the person and if you are not satisfied, get a NEUTRAL
party and see what can be done.“One
of the greatest struggles of becoming an adult is figuring out what you
want to do and what makes you happy. The courageous thing is to stick
with it and see it through and see if you were correct.” –Kristen

first 10 - 15 minutes of meetings are him apologizing for not getting back to
people.       BVARC has a board or so it claims, but if  you look at the web
site there is only one name/contact person listed, and that one person is
unreachable and does not reply to messages.During my time  as a club member I
saw lots of people willing to step up and help with hamfest, and other club
events only to be  put down, overlooked and flat out ignored by this one
member.    Nothing about this club will change until that member is replaced.

Because Emergencies happen. If a person is extremely sick, they
can not get to the meeting. Look it up - You can find yourself.... Also, if a
person is not answering, and as a conscientious radio operator, we should check
in on them and find out what happened. As an active member, I called and found
out. What do you think I should do for people that commit to a function and do
their job? I have a few situations right now....Also, what do you think I need
to do as a member when I was yelled at and in a public place by an officer? As
an active member, you are listed on the roster. You look for the person's call
sign or name and you can find their number. Just call and ask.But please, look
on the roster for w5lic - you should see at least your name.Someone please
check the rules for the Goose and the Gander?Kori? you are in on this, what are
your thoughts? Do we need to continue or should we stop now?I would put that
question to Mike, but I know he is temporarily unavailable today.. He has a
life too. You are next in command, and should be able to set the example. On

wanted to know the reason why the club president did not give notice as per the
by-laws about the club BOD meeting. I know some of the board members make time
to be there, why can't he? At least give notice as per the by-laws. Canceling
the meeting the day of is not the right thing to do.(Article V Section
GProvisions applicable to meetings of the Board of Directors shall be:1. The
board of directors shall meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month at
7:30 PM at a location votedupon at a previous board of directors meeting unless
changed by a majority of the board members by giving proper notice 7 days in
advance.. Special meetings may be called by either a majority of the board
members or theChairman with 7 days notice either in writing or by verbal
contact with each Board member.)As for the Hamfest meeting the by-laws don't
play a factor here but some common courtesy should be shown to the people that
are helping the coordinator of the event.
