On a Lenovo B50 there are two problems:
1. F11 and F12 are meant to lower the display bightness and brighten it
respectively. They work the wrong way round. F11 makes the screen
brighter, F12 makes it darker.
2. When the display would naturally dim after some time, instead i

I can use the workarounds on CLI to re-enable it, but only on CLI with

I've just installed Ubuntu 12 beta 2 and the touchpad doesn't work on
this netbook.
I'm pretty sure it's a kernel issue as it doesn't work with the latest
kernels in Fedora either.

This has been a problem for me for a while now. I was hit by the earlier
password length bug (on the server end the password is trimmed to some
character limit, but Empathy wasn't respecting that). I moved to a
shorter password, working around that issue. It was working for a
if I leave grub standard everything is fine but plymouth is a very low
resolution.
If i follow the guide it fixes plymouth but breaks my ttys

Taking a hint from your mention of maximum password length, I took a
look around at mine (as I use 20 character passwords by default). It
seems that when I paste a new password into the hotmail site, the entry
box cuts it down to 16 characters. I noticed this when I was changing it
to 16 characters

I'm attaching the debug output from the butterfly connection manager and

OK, I've been looking at this some more. Today when connecting I have
noticed that if eth1 (the wireless card) is up then it inhibits routing
through usb0. Taking eth1 down sorts it out. However eth1 comes back up
automatically after a short period (a minute or so).

wound right back. Using ubuntu vers. 8.10 an am very pleased with it in
