Public bug reported: I have an acer revo 3700 which uses hdmi output. After some configuring I got the sound working through the HDMI (following a tutorial from ubuntuforums.org). This works very well, until I start google chrome. Then there is no sound in any other application, or through the system preferences test speakers dialogue. However if I play anything with sound in my browser (the aforementioned google chrome) then I can hear the sound just fine.
