No, I did not say that, I said that there is no point in time when PA is
enabled that I get good sound anymore. The only time I have good/great
sound output is when PA is disabled.

For reference I have your same exact GPU, I get 440+ FPS while compiz is
running with an 850mhz CPU. I do nothing special in setup and as I
recall, SBA and FW's are not supported on that card, so there's no
tweaking.

new drivers are installed and working just fine for a Geforce2 Go. One
little issue, compiz will not enable ( desktop effects ) but I believe
that the compiz test says the old card just does not meet minimal

above tests and trials all to no avail. vboxdrv is clearly not getting
installed. With no VMWare available, I decided to try VBOX, my uname -r
is : 2.6.24-17-generic which differs from the above which indicates
kernel 2.6.24-16-ge
can someone get this bug added to ubuntu ?

I had already tried the alt-F2 path, but that did not work, the reason as far
as I can tell, is that it looks like the & was needed at the end of the command
( I have no idea what it is or does ) . if the emerald --replace is issued in a
command window and exit is not then entered after
I can confirm this bug in Final release of Hardy Heron. Emerald does
nothing after installed from synaptic. Issuing the following command:
emerald --replace &
followed by a command "exit" in the terminal window will enable emerald
functionality ONLY until reboot occurs. following the boot, have t
