*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 174191 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/174191
The bug is that the screensavers use way too many resources and send the CPU usage to 100%. And if the end user does not monitor his system CPU then the screensavers prevent copy commands and other such operations from completing. I know, this is a duplicate bug report, but I reported the issue long before 8.04 was released, and I have seen this bug as far back as 5.04. it is a bug because no screen saver should cause the CPU to race at 100%. A computer SHOULD be able to run batch commands that require no user input ( no keyboard or mouse movement ) and allow the screensaver to come on AND allow the batch processing to complete, but 100% screensaver usage prevents batch commands from completing. -- Default screensaver should be "blank screen" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/208939 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
