I installed and tested on both 32bit and 64bit, installs just fine, I did get a warning that the sanity check could not be preformed due to multiple nvidia.ko's found in the kernel 2.6.24.19(32 bit pc), however it did not seem to cause problems. ( I thought I had removed previous kernels completely from system - .17, .18 ect)
The new driver seems to solve a video corruption issue I have had for over a year now on the upgraded 8.04 32bit system yea ! every time I ran nvidia-settings I would get very strange video corruption in GE and an OGL game foobilliard, and also with OGL screensavers this is now solved ! the new driver feels more brisk. on 64 bit system, I had/have no problems to report at all. both systems running full compiz effects for max eye-candy. all OGL programs run flawless. glxgears show normal results, no speed loss, no real gain either. so in short, one bug solved where nvidia-settings caused corruption in OGL applications(and screensavers) with old nvidia drivers, new driver runs with out issues. -- The NVIDIA driver in the lrm-envy doesn't support Geforce 9xxx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239115 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
