SMA Sunny Island also does this but also discharges battery in parallel with
the generator to create a "virtual generator" that is larger than the actual
generator.
Just set the max generator current and it does the rest.

The new VFXR has updatable firmware through the MATE3 but the old series
has firmware on the control board but not updatable. I have run into this
before but lucked out that both older inverters had the same firmware.

There used to be a chart – supplied years ago – that listed all the metals and
showed what was compatible – or not compatible with different metals.
Sadly I can’t seem to find it, but one of the older guys might still have a
