Nathan: You can find 1000 V rated PV wire from a number of sources. A simple google search for "UL4703 PV Wire" will yield several choices. PV wire is approved for use in conduit but you will need to calculate the conduit fill factors manually since the outside diameter is larger than the "standard sized wires"
Conduit is not an issue @ 1000V but switchgear, combiners and fuses are a bit harder to find (but not impossible). Not sure of the specifics of the system so it is hard to make detailed recommendations. I am considering pitching a 1,000 Vdc system to my AHJ, and it seems like the solar components (modules, inverters, combiners, array wire) are the easy part in a lot of ways. We use Cerro XHHW-2 for basically all of our wiring outside of an array, and it is clearly marked 600 V. Does anyone have a good resource for wire, conduit, fittings, junction boxes, etc. that carries a 1000 Vdc rating? Does anyone know of a 1,000 Vdc rated PV Wire that can be run in conduit in a building? Any info appreciated, thanks, -Nathan -- Nathan J.
