It is an interesting issue. If you have a peak roof with modules on
the south side only, venting through the north side is wide open.
Possibly the NEC could acknowledge this fact.

Another option would be to locate the inverters near the grid and run
the DC at as high a voltage as possible. Have a separate run of wire
for each of the 5 inverters. If you ran the DC at 500 V, an 11.4 kW
inverter would only draw 22.8. A. Use 2/0 AL for a little over 1% VD
at full power.

It seems like Outback has too many problems now, with the Mate 3 and
the discontinuation of the original, excellent FX inverters. I had a
Mate 3 loose its programming on an AC coupled system so that the
batteries had no protective relay until the Mate 3 was reprogrammed.

We have an Outback VFX3648 inverter AC coupled to a Stirling
Generator. We use an Outback autotransformer to get the 240 V needed
to match the Stirling. The Stirling generator must run continuously,
as it is difficult to start up after a shut down.

I don't know about using a Meyers hub with a PVC box. The construction of
the hub does not lend itself to grounding bushings.
Someone does (or did) make PVC boxes with female glue fitting on the top
and sides. My suppliers have not been able to find them. My usual work
around is to use a

> because you can buy them with a bonding screw on the lock nut side.
That sounds like a good option. Do you know who makes them?

Since the tops of Carlon enclosures are beveled, it might be
necessary to heat the pipe to make it bend into the box without strain.
