I never use the Grundfos pumps, but use standard AC deep well pumps, so
long as the inverter can handle it. The off the shelf pumps aren't as
efficient, but stay in the water for much longer. They are also cheaper.

As I remember, that is the classic failure mode. We used to see it now and
then, more often than we liked. It's why I used to recommend always getting
the extended warranty. And, it can be either the CU200 or the pump itself.
It might also be a corroded connection between the two.

And if that light is on it’s supposed to stop pumping. Even if the float was
bad or maybe the wires were bad, if the cu200 is seeing a full tank signal it’s
supposed to shut off the pump.

I'd suggest a valve restrictor or perhaps a ball valve that you can adjust
over time till you achieve your correct flow rate while making sure your
well is able to recover.

Kirpal,
I did this about 5 years ago, on an array-direct irrigation pump with
the ability for the client to run a generator when needed. Yes, it's
all automatic, and no additional relay is needed. When the IO101 senses
AC it automatically closes a contactor - AC coil, NO is the AC, NC is
the PV
the environment
(enclosed is usually best), and wire it safely. This is just one option - but
it uses off-the-shelf parts and ought to be easy to configure.
