Well.I am 260 pounds now maybe 265 darn it and I ride 36 spoke
rear and front wheels and have for over 14,000 miles. If you use
wider tires maybe 38-40mm and are careful I'll bet you could ride on
smooth roads without too much strain on the frame however an Atlantis
or a Bombadil would be

Just had a question: Do you think a Saluki is appropriate for a 300-lb
rider? 36 spokes in the rear, 32 in the front. I know Sheldon Brown
rode a bike with a 24-spoke front, and he was a big guy too.

components possible, including White Industry rear hub, dynohub in the
front, E3 light, Velocity Synergy rims, Campy triple crankset, XTR

Very excellent choice. I also have the pre-aged B68 in brown color on my
mixte Soma Buena Vista. I almost didn't want to install the saddle for fear
that it may mar its "beauty." It's not only beautiful but it is very
comfortable. The most important thing to remember is NOT to put proofide wax

I recently put a B-68 on my Dad's new bike. I didn't get to test
ride it much, but when I did it felt *way* comfortable compared to all
but the most broken-in, ass-molded B17.

I have bikes with similar set ups, after changing from drop bars to
Albatross bars on an All-Rounder I also changed the saddle from a B-17
to a Flyer (basically a sprung B-17). The upright seating postion
works better for me with a sprung saddle, with drop bars I'm ok either
way.

I have five pairs of MUSA shorts, pants, knickers and I have a
corresponding number of Andiamo briefs. Rivendell doesn't carry them
anymore and I was wondering if anybody has done long rides in the wool
briefs or boxers they sell now. I have done some shorter stuff in
wicking boxers under the MU

here and others. I think I'm still going to wind up with a pair of
Oakley wrap-arounds, though something a bit less radical than the

is a much better, stronger, faster rider than I will ever be. His

I have NeoRetros, but only the Rivendell style basket on the
front,looked at some pictures though
With lowriders and smaller panniers no problem, with really long,
high mounted panniers they could interfer a little bit at least when
being opened, or being taken of. Depends on your style of pannie
