Not sure.  If they did, I wonder if they would also design a more
narrow bottom bracket to allow use of an American style single piece
crank?  I spoke with Mike about this at NAHBS this year.  If you are
only going to have one chain ring, his set up is arguably more durable
and easy to maintain.  Single piece cranks will not work on most
modern bikes as the bottom bracket is too wide to fit them in.
