Welcome on board. You did pick an outstanding camera and from your lens
usage, you are a "prime" man.
Put a wide angle prime lens on your list of items to get. With Pentax
equipment, it does not need to be auto-focus and some of the best prime wide
have "Pentax" on their lens rim.

It has light falloff problems until about f8 - quite noticeable. In
trying to trim my kit down a bit, that was the worst of the bunch.

I just got back from Ireland yesterday, and was greeted by a "you're
unsubscribe Email didn't work" and 1300 other Emails. Fortunately the
University's system doesn't blink at that and I was able to exercise the
awesome power of the delete key.
Despite the rain and the mud, SW Ireland
Check it with another lens. If it is the pressure plate, you should have the
same problem with a similar lens with the same focal length and aperture.
DOF might have kept you from seeing it before.

don't do it. you will get worse results, sometimes much worse. 3rd party
papers are OK if the paper doesn't list a specific vendor. many of the more
expensive 3rd
I think the first three million people who might have been interested had

yeah, that's pretty much what I was planning to do Herb. I have some
lenses with 77mm threads, but I was mainly worried about wasting money
on a series of 67 or 77mm screw ins grads which could not be easily
'rotated' on the lens. I am sure you can rotate screw ins a bit, but

Rotation is not the big problem for grads, scenes not split evenly are
the problem. If you ever follow the rule of thirds so that your
horizon's don't split the image dead center (generally considered a
no-no) then the grad can't be centered over the lens. That is why the
holder is so use

Doesn't really surprise mw. Both the MZ-S and the 645N have very accurate AF. It is
even great for those instances common Nikon/Canon wisdom says AF is no good, like
close to 1:1 macro of moving subjects.

Well, with all the Visa numbers and emails flying around, I missed a phone
