pretty much have to go with one if you want to use a gradient ND filter. otherwise, you are stuck with the gradient in the middle. i use mine only for the gradient ND filters. i use normal screwin filters for others like plain ND, warming, UV, and circular polarizer. luckily, i can buy all 77mm and use an adapter ring for all of my lenses that are smaller than 77mm.
