Funny you should mention this now. I just had a long conversation with my attorney/friend about printers. He has an Epson he just loves, and I'll admit it prints fine color photos. I mentioned that I leave my HP on all the time. He retorted that Epson tech support told him to shut the printer off at the machine, NOT at the power strip, as he had been doing.
Of course, the HP has it's heads in each print cartridge, assuring clean orifices at each change, whilst the Epson most likely needs special attention because the printer engine has the heads in the printer itself.
