I believe the Soft Pack is priced at about $40. However, it is possible to
convert files to MP3 through a more convoluted process. Without the Soft
Pack, all note files will be recorded in that .GP format. With the free
HumanWare Companion software, it is easy to convert .GP files to .WAV files.

WMP opens as a separate window for me. You might check if the application is
set to open in a "normal" window. Go to the desktop icon and press alt-enter
to bring up properties. Tab four or five times to hear the window size
options. On my system, "normal" is set. If I arrow down, I am o
NLS issued recordings of magazines for these players well into the nineties,
and I think even beyond 2000. It might be worth contacting your local
library to ask if they have any of these machines around and, if not,
