Windows Media Player

I believe WMP is not only on my system, but shows signs of functioning. 
However, I can't locate it in my windows 7 system's "all programs"," through 
the start menu, on my desktop or anywhere else. For one thing, I'd like to 
determine which version I have. Any suggestions?
