iWork is very accessible and would work for the tasks you mention. The preview
of MS Office, at least when it comes to Word, is a long way behind iWork.

You have to add the template to your templates list to be able to open it and
modify it. You can use an existing template as the basis for a new template and
you can turn placeholder text back into normal text using the same command that
made it placeholder text in the first place.

You have to do this for each type of file you want to edit with TextEdit. So,
normally, RTF will open with TextEdit but DOC and DOCX will have to be changed.
Select a file of the type you wish to change and press Cmd-i to open the

I recently discovered the immense value of VO-Cmd-F3 and VO-Cmd-F3-F3 in
showing the size of an object and its position on the page. Since we still have
an ancient Mac Mini running Snow Leopard, we tried these commands on that and
they were there! How did I miss them?

What happens when you try to open the document? If it launches Pages, then
filling in the form is easy.

OK. Filling out PDF forms can be done with Skim, but it’s complicated.
It’s best if you have installed the utility MoveMouse and you should go to
VoiceOver Utility and check the checkbox to speak item under mouse and set the
delay to zero.
Navigate to the character to the left of the field to be
on either on or off list.

If you need to handle tables in your documents, I think that Pages is your only
choice. What is your problem with Pages anyway?

Where did you find this setting? I can only find a repeat setting for
punctuation in VoiceOver Utility/Verbosity/Text.

To check that your signatures have been assigned properly, open Mail
Preferences and go to the Signatures pane. Select an account in the lefthand
table and navigate right to the list of signatures for that account. If there
is nothing there, no signature has been assigned to that acc

The Option-Up or Down Arrow works for me, but some people find they have to do
Cmd-Option-up or down arrow.
