Hello Rena,

What level of Mac OS X are you running?
VO-u opens the Web Rotor.
VO-i opens the Item Chooser.
VO-Shift-i reads the web page statistics.

When you did VO-u, you should have navigated to the right or left to find other 
lists of items.
Another thing that comes to mind is that you have Quick Nav activated. Try 
pressing on the left and right arrow keys at the same time to see if Quick Nav 
was on or off.
