Have you Repaired the permissions. It is a good practice after a major upgrade
such as this. I have the 15 inch I7 version and am not seeing battery life
problems such as you've mentioned.

THis isn't really a VoiceOver feature but a Mail one, and no, it doesn't seem
to work under the new layout at least. There is always the official search box
in the Mail toolbar, and other ways to find messages which have been improved

As a note, I repaired permissions in mostly the way TIm describes, except for
first booting into the recovery partition just to be safe. I wanted to make
sure the OS wasn't being used in any way which might prevent repairs. That can
be done by holding cmd-r as the machine reboots.

This might be a silly question, but are you sure you have a Finder Window open
inside Finder? I think most of the Finder menu items will be greyed out if
there are no windows open. You can press Command+N to open a new window.

First, on the MBP, you also have to hold down the function key. I am unable to
perform that keystroke. Second, assuming that you *can perform that

1TB USB drive and seems to have gotten stuck right almost toward the end. Any

Yes, I highly recommend a permission repair after install. I did so today, and
was surprised at just how many errors were caught and fixed. As far as Mail
goes, I have had no problems completing recipient addresses the same way I
always did in SL. I can't comment on the Item C

I can hear recipients' addresses in the new view, but I have to type more of
the letters before VO speaks them.

No, I just tried it, it works in the regular view, with the caveat that you
must use vo+up and down arrow to move through the messages when in the message
content area. also if you set a hot spot on the mailbox list I think you can
get there a lot quicker.
