I am seeing some delay, but also a lot of garbage that I don't want to hear as I scroll through the messages, even when I interact with a particular column such as subject. This behavior isn't always stable, meaning that sometimes, for no reason I can think of, it stops doing that and reads as it should. Pressing the VO keys while scrolling helps, but doesn't get rid of the problem. Sometimes I have a glorious mess. All of the settings look like they were in SL.
