I am stuck this way as well. And my resolution suggests I wait to see
what's announced this fall.

Hi Jonathan,
Some time ago I also had problems getting Taptic time to work. Here is what I
do. Tap once then follow that up very quickly with a quick double-tap. You
can’t wait too long or it’ll just wake up the watch and then speak the time. I
like the feature because if I wake up during t
There is no Safari on the watch, but both Apple Podcasts and Overcast have apps
to listen to podcasts.
One thing I really appreciate about my watch is that if you use the iPhone
health app to create a wakeup alarm, and ware your watch to bed then the alarm
only goes off on your wrist. I can easi

need a new iPhone as my 8+ is not supported. Soon I hope to get both.

I have had several Apple Watch models with the Silicon Sport band, and was
originally very surprised at how much I liked it.
Donna is correct, that the Sport band is not very “dressy”, but nevertheless, I
found it very comfortable, and enjoyed wearing it.

The Amazon options sounds like a good one. Dick Tracy talking to his
wrist. Smiling here. Would have seen that coming to life?

Once again, I agree with Donna.
As someone who has been using an Apple Watch since it debuted in April 2015, I
think Janina’s expectations are not realistic.
The Apple Watch is a great device, and while I am on my 6th iteration, I
realize the watch has limitations, and can not be expected to be a
Great point, Jessica. I agree.

ET,
This really is a question of personal taste. Personally,I find the default
band a little too casual. I wanted something I would be comfortable wearing
when dressed up. So I have the Milanese band—at least I think that’s what it’s
called. It’s a metal band with clasp, and I like it much
Hi Janina,
I can’t answer your questions about Safari, headphones, or the keyboard, but
I’ll share my thoughts on some of the others.
Personally, I don’t think that the watch can replace a phone. I find

Steve and Donna,
Appreciate this. I am quite willing to save myself $100. My iPhone
is always with me.
What about the watch band? If I was in walking distance of an Apple
store, I could go there and look.Other than colors, is the default band
decent? Thanks.

Thanks to all on this thread. I'm pretty much in the same place as ET on
the verge of purchasing a watch and making these decisions for myself.
I suspect I am willing to pay the extra (now $15 at T-Mo) for the
cellular service as I simply can't justify lugging around a big old

I agree with Donna.
I have the Apple Watch Ultimate, which has cellular, but I have not enabled
cellular service because it isn’t worth $10 per month for something I’m not
going to use.

Hi ET,
I agree with everything that others have said. The one thing I would add is
that personally, I don’t really like taking phone calls on my watch. This is,
of course, subjective, but I mention it because if I remember correctly, you
have hearing loss, and the reason I don’t like using th
Whether or not to go cellular is entirely up to you. You'll spend $100 more for
the watch, and you'll pay $10 a month for cellular service on the watch.
If you carry your phone with you everywhere as do I, then you probably don't
need a watch with cellular service.

As to whether to get a cellular version or not, that one is strictly up to you.
The cellular version will allow you to make and receive phone calls without
needing your iPhone on your person. Otherwise, without the cellular option, if
