I've got a RH8 machine, and i've been trying to setup
a dialup connection to an ISP. Now, I did the
following: Using KPPP, I configured the account and
gave no DNS or IP addresses (since they're dynamic
anyway..). Authentication I made Terminal Based since

I would not recomend using the VSNL 202.54.15.1 comp as your primary name
... and synaptic is a pretty good GUI for it

If you like having a GUI, there is a great gtk2 front-end called
"synaptic" which you may also download from here. Once installed, just
run "System Settings > Synaptic".

I am knowing about any interesting file diff utility which can ve used
along with cvs so that file changed in cvs vs local file can be found.

Make it PAP/CHAP based. Works for most ISP's.
Allow automatic DNS in the account settings.

as far as I know, any file diff program can be used with cvs. CVS also has a
built in diff program. Under windows with WinCVS I use MS WinDiff. It is no
