Hey all! I've got a RH8 machine, and i've been trying to setup a dialup connection to an ISP. Now, I did the following: Using KPPP, I configured the account and gave no DNS or IP addresses (since they're dynamic anyway..). Authentication I made Terminal Based since i havent got down to writing a script as yet.
I'm able to connect easily enough, but the unique problem is that in ANY browser, i can only access sites using IP addresses.. Typing the domain name (like www.anything.com ) doesnt work. But typing an IP address takes me there easily. I then made some changes to my resolv.conf file by putting in the IP addresses, but to no avail. What could be the problem? Is there any other setting (ie, my local network settings which might be causing a problem? I was able to work perfectly fine on RH7.3 though..and as far as i remember i used the same settings.)
