Or you may have multiple freesurfer versions within the freesurfer
director, something like
/freesurfer/5.0, /freesurfer/5.1, /freesurfer/5.2b, /freesurfer/5.2 etc.
and then
export FREESURFER_HOME=/freesurfer/5.1 etc
