Hello,
Got this patch tested and it works. Not on Sparc platform still,
but on Intel it does. Also, the first one I sent was messed up from

yan, you want to add --with-libcrypt
and --with-libcrypto options? Without that, you can manually specify
the libraries with build.sh, or simply run ./configure and manually
add -lcrypt to the "LIB = " line in Makefile afterwards.

Hello,
Is dbmail-dev ready to be used? Subscriptions and posting work,
so I'd guess so. 's been a lot of development discussions here
lately that folks interested in just using dbmail may appreciate
being moved there, to lessen the traffic.

Just a heads up, you need passwd to be varchar(34) if you're
going to use md5 hash passwords.

s fed from multiple other smtp servers running full-blown mta
software (eg. postfix and the others you mentioned). As Eelco said,
they both have their own place, with distinct advantages and
disadvantages.
Like you said, there's no point in re-inventing the wheel, and
I don't think that
ou probably just need to have both in place (the postfix alias to
get things redirected somewhere, and the dbmail alias so it knows
which user's INBOX to put the message in).
If you don't get it figured out, forward the pertinent postfix alias
entries and dbmail aliases entries.

matter of getting all the admin
functions completed (which isn't a huge task, but one we've not gotten
finished yet). Postgres support will be coming soon too, as that's
what we're going to use for our mail system. Hollar if you want to
work on this stuff instead of just writing your own :).

I can find anything
obvious from the code. Is this a pretty busy server? Can you look at
the logs and try to determine if this only happenes when there are
multiple users simultaneously authenticating? Also, for testing, see
if setting MAXCONNECTS to 1 in dbmail.conf makes the problem go away.
ssion->password on an apop connection = the apop hash

Hey,
Good point - that should be a comparison, not assignment. I
corrected that in the attached patch.
Thanks,
Jesse

log in), this is just
in the signal handling routines.

is
fired. A single connection timing out (eg. "telnet mail2 1100")
is consistently triggering it for me now, but I thought it wasn't
at first, so I started playing with simultaneous connections.
Roel, wanna see if you can duplicate (and fix) that? :)

like that
is inserted by the smtp receiver, using the MAIL FROM address. (There
was no Return-Path: in the message headers of what dbmail sent me
on a forward, so the one I see has to be added by the local smtp
receiver). Lemme see what I can find in rfc 2822.

strictly speaking, doesn't have to.
In short, use postfix aliases right now, and this should be put on
a todo list to fix in dbmail (ie. when it strips the Return-Path:
out of a message it is forwarding somewhere, use that address as the
envelop sender in MAIL FROM command).
Later...
or
aliases to only exist on one of the mail servers (we have multiple
dbmail servers for the same db). You can drop the host, disabled,
and comments fields from the table, and the additional_conditions
from the .cf file. You also need a line in main.cf pointing to this,
of course, eg.:
alias_maps
