On a different note, I have several SSHDs (Seagate 1 TB with 8 GB of MLC). Basically these just show up as a single drive and you generally do not get to separate them out. The ones that I have perform like midrange SSDs until you exhaust the large cache, then performance drops to what you would

On my Lenovo I was able to disable the secure boot in the UEFI and then install Ubuntu as I normally would. I did a clean install of Windows 8 on it's own SSD. GRUB has no problems with either OS. I also stand by my criticism of the Ultrabook branding. Just for some background, my direct PC har

Hi Hendrick, Thanks for your reply. I was hoping you would tell me how to do it! My first step is to contact Microsoft tech support to ask them how to do it. I doubt they will tell me anything useful but at least it may annoy them! Then I'll contact Acer tech support to ask them how to do it.

The 24gb ssd is typically going to be a cache drive. It may not be possible to install anything on it, this will be a bios limitation. In terms of replacing the drive in some cases the caching ssd drives have different mounting holes than standard msata drives. That is the issue I've got with me
