Hi,
You can export the updated reg key to a file and import this as part of
your installation process. Should be nice if the ITSM client corrected
the key at installation.

Hi,
You plan your ITSM db backups depending on how much data you want to
loose or time want to spent rerunning ran jobs (...). And things like
re-use delays on storage pools should be also taken into account.
After having to deal with a database restore to a point before the last

Hi,
Yep, we and others have.
What are the problems you are running into? Installing ITSM clients in a
cluster is described in the ITSM client documentation.

Hi,
Possibly you have to delete and redefine all your drives, paths and
library in ITSM to pick up the added drive in the library.
Afterall you have changed the library by adding a drive.

Hi,
1) You can change ownership of a scratch volume by using the 'upd libv
owner= stat=' command. See help upd libv
2) Yes, the volumes used by the library client (TSMSun) will be return
to the scratch pool. The scratch pool is managed by the library manager
and both ITSM servers can use tapes fro

Instead of the 'label libv' you can set the library in ITSM to autolabel
new tapes.

Hi,
If you want to manage data with different retention times for one
back-up client, I would define 2 nodes on the ITSM server, one for each
dsm.sys entry. By doing so, the data backupped under one dsm.sys entry
will not get expired by the exclude of the other entry.

Karel

Hi,
Install 2 linux ITSM backup clients (one on each) and one wintel ITSM
backup client, register the nodes on the itsm server and schedule the
back-ups.

Hi,
Hi,
(dsm)sched.log and dsm(error).log at the client can give some extra
info. Workaround could be to set the schedmode to polling.

Hi,
I would just setup the new diskpools in your ITSM servers, update the
copy groups to back-up to the new pools, update the old diskpools
pointing your next stg to the new diskpool and start migration.

I assume it's the same with LTO2 drives and a mix of LTO1 and LTO2

Hi,
For windows, you can remotely change the registry key
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM\ADSM\CurrentVersion\BackupClient\Nodes\
\ folder and after restarting the ITSM
service(s) things should work.

Karel
