I'd first define $$$ you will spend and then we can give you better options. I have an HP laptop that rocks. Dual Core with 3 gig of ram. Webcam, dvd writer, 4 usb ports. Very pleased. HP dv6928 us 64 bit It ran Vista 32 bit, Ubuntu 32 and 64 bit, Win7 32 bit and finally Win7 64 bit is on currently. Paid 670 USD in 2008 for it and just replaced a hard drive because of a possible virus that no anti virus finds??? I would NOT WASTE $$ for piss ass support from any of these vendors of hardware. I would put that same cash into my Fix It Fund to replace anything I need to if I need to. That includes the entire machine. When you self insure over time your find that it is rare to need those funds. Those funds grow and become the capital for tne next purchase in a few years. YMMV. The prices of quality laptops are so low that I would never consider a desktop at home again. -- Stephen Russell Sr. Production Systems Programmer CIMSgts 901.246-0159 cell _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
