Hallo > I seem to be running into problems recording sound under both streamer (from > XawTV) and lavrec (from mjpegtools). Using lavrec and the following script, I > get the following: Thats not good. Have you tried to record only the sound with any audio recording application ? Till you have that working you do not need to record the sound with streamer or lavrec.

Have you tried using a other option for the sound card input selection. Maybe you have a problem there. > Basically, the video looks good, but I get no audio. When I play XawTV, I get > sound. When I record and playback - no sound. When you watch TV no the DSP does not need to work. > lsmod looks like this: > Module Size Used by Tainted: P > **shorewall stuff deleted** > > snd-seq-midi 5024 0 (autoclean) (unused) > snd-seq-oss 31104 0 (unused) > snd-seq-midi-event 5640 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss] > snd-seq 42608 2 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss > snd-seq-midi-event] > snd-pcm-oss 43556 0 > snd-mixer-oss 14488 0 [snd-pcm-oss] > snd-ens1370 11116 0 > snd-rawmidi 17600 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-ens1370] > snd-seq-device 5832 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq > snd-rawmidi] > snd-pcm 77536 0 [snd-pcm-oss snd-ens1370] > snd-timer 18376 0 [snd-seq snd-pcm] > gameport 3316 0 [snd-ens1370] > snd-page-alloc 7732 0 [snd-ens1370 snd-pcm] > snd-ak4531-codec 5972 0 [snd-ens1370] > snd 40868 0 [snd-seq-midi snd-seq-oss snd-seq-midi-event > snd-seq snd-pcm-oss snd-mixer-oss snd-ens1370 snd-rawmidi snd-seq-device > snd-pcm snd-timer snd-ak4531-codec] > > **more stuff delted** > > tuner 11744 1 (autoclean) > tvaudio 15068 0 (autoclean) (unused) > bttv 78496 0 > videodev 7872 2 [bttv] > i2c-algo-bit 9064 1 [bttv] > i2c-core 21192 0 [tuner tvaudio bttv i2c-algo-bit] > soundcore 6276 0 [snd bttv] > Where do I turn next to get sound working when recording from my WinTV card? BTW: Ripping a CD does not prove that dsp can record. Just read a bit from the docu from grip. > [EMAIL PROTECTED] bruce]# fuser /dev/sound/dsp > [EMAIL PROTECTED] bruce]# fuser /dev/dsp Thats usually a good sign. > ** Next, started up XMMS and listened to MP3 radio ** > [EMAIL PROTECTED] bruce]# fuser /dev/dsp > /dev/dsp: 13026 13027 13028 13029 13030 13031 13032 If you see that you can do a: ps ax | grep PID You have to replace the PID with the number you got from fuser. auf hoffentlich bald, Berni the Chaos of Woodquarter Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] www: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~gz/bernhard ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: INetU Attention Web Developers & Consultants: Become An INetU Hosting Partner.
