Thats not good. Have you tried to record only the sound with any audio
recording application ?
Till you have that working you do not need to record the sound with
streamer or lavrec.

> The capture script:
> [EMAIL PROTECTED] TVCaptures]$ more capture.sh
> lavrec -t${2} --software-encoding --input=n --quality=50 --geometry=352x288
> --audio-bitsize=8 --audio-source=l --verbose=1 -
> -wait /home/bruce/TVCaptures/${1}.avi
Have you tried running the script as root?

Have you tried using a other option for the sound card input selection.
Maybe you have a problem there.

When you watch TV no the DSP does not need to work.

BTW: Ripping a CD does not prove that dsp can record. Just read a bit
from the docu from grip.

> [EMAIL PROTECTED] bruce]# fuser /dev/sound/dsp
> [EMAIL PROTECTED] bruce]# fuser /dev/dsp
Thats usually a good sign.

> ** Next, started up XMMS and listened to MP3 radio **
> [EMAIL PROTECTED] bruce]# fuser /dev/dsp
> /dev/dsp: 13026 13027 13028 13029 13030 13031 13032
If you see that you can do a: ps ax | grep PID
You have to replace the PID with the number you got from fuser.

auf hoffentlich bald,
