Mmm. Curiously, it looks as though alpine now automatically reflows very long plain text lines, like the ones generated by this MUA (Apple Mail). So there’s that. Perhaps we need a new MIME content-type, “text/paragraphs”, to make it official?
I advocate plain text, but since so many commercial mailers don’t make the effort and just dump markdown (which isn’t always the most readable) I often find myself choosing to receive HTML. Even though it is unquestionably less accessible and less transparent. But I think it’s only fair to be considerate toward those of us still in a plain text environment. Sometimes, that’s me. Especially on a discussion forum where there’s just not that much need for HTML. My completely unnecessary two penn'orth. Sorry.
