Let's not bore the rest of the list with this too much more, but my main disagreement with the below if your comment about "camps" again - I know it is intended as a shorthand for ease of reference, but it doesn't really work - at the start of last season I was very much of the view that Blackwell had earnt the right to a second season. By the end of last season, in spite of an at-expectations league position, I was clear in my mind he should go, because of the nature of the tactics and football played - I jsut didn't see progress and development in that aspect. And the final nail in that coffin was Cardiff. There aren't neat camps, and peoples views, as you have said, are fluid and change.

Any way - what's your teamd for Saturday?

Not exactly ;)

What we hope for and what we expect to happen are two entirely different things.

I hope we will go up automatically this season, I expect we will probably finish 3rd or 4th.

I hoped we would not go down the first season, half expected we wouldn’t but half expected we would.  It was touch and go, but as it happened it was more comfortable than we expected.

Last season I hoped we would finish top 5, I expected to finish top 6, I did not expect to get promoted.

It would be interesting to know what the Anti Blackwell brigade expected of Leeds last season if KB stayed in charge.  I cant remember, but expect it’s the same as this season, ie if we stick with KB we would get nothing.

So, KB achieved above average expectations and in line with what the average person hoped IN THE NEUTRAL/PRO KB CAMP.  That’s clearly why we are satisfied with his performance.

He obviously achieved below what the ANTI Blackwell brigade HOPED for, but must have achieved more than what they expected, surely?  Why else would they be so pissed off with him?

Ted said we achieved way above everyone's expectations. As you acknowledge below he did exactly what most hoped for.  We therefore agree Mark, we did not achieve way above expectations. Nice to agree for once. :)

Not the point Dave.

Our first season most of us hoped for survival, logically thought that was likely but given what had happened to us, plus the threat of a 10point deduction, half expected and wouldn’t have been surprised to see us drop down again.  It wasn’t pretty, noone expected it to be.

Second season most of us hoped for a play-off position.

KB kept us up the first season, as it happened relatively comfortably (always around 10pts clear).

KB got us to the playoff final.

In other words HE DID EXACTLY WHAT MOST OF US HOPED FOR.  You have just admitted as much.

Case rested?  Ha ha ha – yeah as if..
