But the point about ‘better teams’ started because we were highlighting forwards who were current internationals.  My assertion is that its more difficult to be picked as an England or ROI striker than it is to be picked as a NI striker, because I think those national sides have a generally higher standard of player to pick from.

 

Put it another way, I think a fringe England player like Johnston, or Clinton Morrison would walk into the NI starting 11.

What I think is irrelevant - it will have no bearing on the game between the two teams next time they meet - just like the history books or the FIFA rankings - that's why football is so great...every once in a while Colchester beat Leeds (oops hope I haven't jinxed that one)
