Joe, there is nothing wrong with selling used/reconditioned KXTD or KXTDA with or without its software onboard, any more than selling used desktop computers with or without theirs. Buyers of used equipment know to look more closely at what they're getting, since it may vary from new spec (e.g. software release, feature & compatibility issues, etc. etc.).
My issue is with those who sell the stuff new with either no firmware (so it can't operate) or with firmware obtained further upstream under false pretenses. New means it should work as per manufacturer spec, and warranty coverage should be available. Those who provide neither *are* hurting Panasonic's brand equity, and our reputations.
