I guess Ken Rand didn't know what he was talking about then, even though his plans are still for sale... And Burt stopped selling his plans decades ago, so I'm thinking he knew what he was doing.
That's the nice thing about experimental - we are all free to do as we please. I have a friend with a Lancair 235.
