Yes...I'm running emc2 through  . ./emc2-dev/scripts/emc-environment because I 
created a particular file .py for the 3D simulation

As you appear to have an emc2-dev, if that is the full source tree,
then you might want to compile with "make" rather than "comp"

You can me explain me this better? I should use the procedure for run in place 
to compile emc2? like this:
$ cd src $ ./autogen.sh        $ ./configure $ make  $ make install-menus $ 
sudo make setuid-- 
atp
